Our History
The school was founded on 22nd September 2008 by Pst. (Mrs.) J.I.O. Uchemefune and Pst. Boniface
Uchemefune.
Mrs. Uchemefune, who is the Chief Executive Officer, is a hardworking disciplinarian with over three
decades of teaching experience. She holds an NCE and B.Ed degree from the University of Benin. She
also holds a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Lagos.
Having served on the board of several schools, she can boast that many of her students have become
notable personalities in Nigeria. Mr. Boniface Uchemefune is the Chairman Board of Directors. He holds
a B.BA(Fin. & Acct.) and M.B.A.(Finance)degrees from The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A & M
University of Texas respectively. He is a Corporate Finance Consultant, a Chartered Tax Practitioner and a
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He oversees the financial matters of the school.
Remmon Home Academy is a favourite choice for children. We pride ourselves in creating a close, secure and happy environment, etched in proactive thinking. It is a testimony, that all our school events through the calendar year is inundated with old students, who keep coming back years after graduation to join us in one activity or the other. The Remmon Home child knows how to play hard, work hard, and is confident and lively. At Remmon Home, learning, a deep sense of value and mutual respect are fundamental to our societal life. Our vision of “Raising a Total Child” makes us conscious of promoting personal development within and outside the classroom.
With very little staff turnover and the core members of staff having started with the opening of the school there is A SENSE OF STABILITY AND TRADITION. Every class in the pre-school boasts of two highly qualified and motivated teachers. Remmon Home prides herself in its motivational teaching style, as it combines traditional methods with the use of new technologies. Our highly qualified and dedicated teachers encourage our pupils to develop rich self-esteem and skills by building a rapport with them.
All pupils are given take home assignment and parents are encouraged to take part in their children’s learning. We organize open days for parents to meet with staff over the course of the school year, creating an avenue for the parents to discuss school matters and to check on the progress of their children.
Pst (Mrs.) Uchemefune ensures that her teachers work as a team to imbibe values, foster self-discipline and a sense of belonging and resilience in all the pupils, especially pupils in the Senior Grades.
The school is known for nurturing positive attitudes, values of hard work and discipline required to achieve and sustain excellence in and out of the classroom.
We are very keen on making our pupils well grounded academically and socially thereby making them adapt easily wherever they find themselves. We modestly say we are always on the winning side. Remember! There are 2 schools in Lagos, Remmon Home Academy and others.
Thirteen years seems like yesterday, but in reality, it is years of hard work, zeal, fulfilling passion and working towards our mission to make our vision realistic. It has been 13 years of educating, nurturing and building lives. On this note, I humbly say we owe our last 13 years of Excellence to God for sustenance.
